Indigenous Australiana is a site about the Australian Aborigines and their links to their past beliefs and culture and present day existance in European society.
This site is a new site that has been redeveloped from the Adnyanathanha Aborigines of South Australia site created by these students entered last year.
The Adnyanathanha group from the South Australian Flinders Ranges is covered in depth. Through the use of various media, the site aims to develop a wide variety of skills and broader knowledge about the Australian Aboriginal groups for people of all ages. It aims to develop a better understanding of the Australian Aboriginal culture and to counter negative stereotypes. The site focuses on the Dreaming stories of the Adnyamathanha people as well as thier environment, language, lifestyle, technology and visual arts. It also discusses the subject of reconciliation between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Australians and the eight key issues involved.
There is an extensive activities section for teachers and students of primary and secondary schooling. It covers language, art, cultural and extended learning activities such as acrostic, image and word recongnition, crosswords with movable letters, scenes with moveable images, planning camp sites, analysing dreaming stories, critical thinking and source analysis activities.
Frequent meetings were held as we found that we were able to work more effectively when working closely with each other. It was difficult to find free time as every one had to balance other commitments.

This project is about the scenic wonders of our local area. With the current financial crisis and the emphasis on "holidaying at home", the project aims to advertise Port Kennedy and the surrounding areas of Western Australia in order to attract tourists during these times of economic hardship. The group members of Endeavour1 feel this is a relevant and meaningful topic at this time. They wish to encourage Australians and tourists from all over the World to visit our community as it has so much to offer.
The group members of Endeavour1 will outline the many things that Port Kennedy and Western Australia have to offer tourists. This will be based on personal experiences and research with the aim of attracting more visitors to the area.
The required resources include Internet and email access, digital cameras, a scanner, transport to and from different local attractions and art supplies. Other resources include Microsoft Movie Maker, Photoshop, musical instruments and voice recorders; however some of the advertising ideas discussed by Endeavour1 were not possible due to the size of the files that are able to be uploaded onto ThinkQuest.
The project aims to meet Curriculum standards through the ICP (Investigation, Communication and Participation) strand of Society and Environment. English standards are also a large focus throughout this project due to the collaboration and research component being linked with Speaking and Listening outcomes and Reading, Writing and Viewing components are integrated throughout the process as well.
The main outcome for the project is for the members of Endeavour1 to have the opportunity to be motivated and independent learners, taking pride in their achievements. This will help the class to see the amazing results which can be achieved through applying yourself and persisting, even when a task seems overwhelming at first. The students of Endeavour Primary can see the opportunities created through hard work and dedication and gain a greater appreciation of just how lucky they are to be living in such a wonderful community.
On a wider scale, the community and World can benefit from this project by people taking a closer look at the community in which they live. This project highlights the incredible facilities and attractions in and around Port Kennedy and hopefully, people reading this project, will think more carefully about the fabulous attractions in their own local areas. In addition to this, Endeavour1 hopes that more people will be aware of the possibilities in Port Kennedy and Western Australia, in order to increase tourism from those already living nearby or from people visiting other parts of Australia. With the current economic crises, stimulating spending and the economy should be a major focus as it can have enormous benefits for people all over the World.

Kings Park is very important to Perth. It was established because our first Premier, Sir John Forrest, declared that it was to be help as public parkland for the people. To make sure that it stayed that way he got its permanency established in Parliament. Everyone has memories of growing up with picnics at Kings Park. Today it is not only a great place for a picnic, it also leads in scientific research into the propagation of rare and endangered native Australian plants.
