Our entry provides an overview of Alaskan Wildflowers,
plants in general, and the beauty that can be seen throughout
Alaska. In addition to showcasing Alaskan Wildflowers,
we wanted to encourage viewers to learn more about plants
and Alaska than they knew before entering our site.
In attempting to encourage learning in a fun way, we
included many games and activities that may be used in the
classroom to facilitate learning about plants and
wildflowers in their own areas. We also provide a way to
include students' efforts on our web site so that others may
learn about local wildflowers all over the U.S. and the world.
Our personal objectives were to teach our children how to
research a subject from a variety of angles, and to take the
knowledge gained and learn to present it, using multiple facets
of lay out and design, on the web. We also wanted to ensure
that each child learned about and used all of the skills
required to complete a web page from start to finish. It
was also important that our team learn to identify, appreciate,
and utilize the individual strengths of each team member.
Our ultimate goal was to make a page that would foster
learning for ALL ages.

The objective of this entry is to help kids all over the country and the world who are studying about Alaska in Social Studies. We want to let them know what it is really like to be a kid in Alaska. They can find lots of facts about Alaska in other places, but we couldn't find any other source that could help kids know what it is like to really live here.
We want to inform kids about our lifestyles and hobbies because even though we live very different than most kids, we are the same in a lot of ways. If kids are doing reports, this is a fun place they can look up information they probably can't find anyplace else. It might help kids understand how exciting it is to live in Alaska if they can read about our adventures.
We want to tell kids about things they didn't even know existed so they will want to come to Alaska someday and see for themselves.

At this site you will learn about the six regions of Alaska, and what is special about each region. The six regions are the Arctic, Western, Interior, Southeastern, South-central, and Southwestern. We cover the cities, environment, native groups, wildlife, and have a lot of pictures to help describe and show people what those regions are like.

Our objective was to provide information about some activities we do in Alaska in the winter for students who need to do a report or are just plain interested. We want to let people know that Alaska is not just "an icebox", but a great place to be summer AND winter.

We are trying to teach people about wolves in Alaska. We have included information that lets people know what they eat, their habitat, how they raise their pups, and other scientific information. We know that there are a lot of people who get very angry about wolf hunting in Alaska and other places. We tried to only include information about wolves that would teach people about them and how they live, and not to give opinions for or against the hunting of wolves. That is something that they should decide for themselves.
