In our web site you will learn about cooking, food, and things in the kitchen. This web site has great information that may be helpful on reports and other things. In some areas you will see that they are quite educational. In others, you will find great deals of fun. On our home page we describe each area. In About Us you will find out about our life styles and what our hobbies are. The History area is about how the prehistoric people cooked. In the Nutrition area you will find things about good eating habits and eating healthy. We have simple recipes that will get kids ready to cook. Our bibliography tells you what references we used to make our web site complete.

Recipes & More was created by fourth grade students at Ivy Drive School in Bristol, Connecticut. For the six students involved, it is their first ever Web site. The Web site is centered around original family recipes the students brought from home. The recipes are divided into four categories: main dishes, side dishes, appetizers, and desserts. The Web site includes cooking terms, measuring equivalents, and abbreviations used in cooking. A word search puzzle is included for fun, and an "about us" page gives a glimpse of each student.

Wheatley?s Virtual Cookbook is an electronic cookbook of selected recipes that were submitted by the staff and students of our school. This site is more than reading recipes you will discover how our everyday subjects such as math, science, and history play an important role in the world of following a recipe and producing the perfect dish. Within this site we will refresh your etiquette skills, allow you to meet a couple of chefs, and enjoy playing a couple of food games.

We designed our website to insinuate in a subtle way that all school subjects are connected in "Real Life." We chose the well-loved theme of Chocolate to demonstrate this interconnectivity. Another objective that we had in mind as we designed our site was to make learning engaging and fun. We chose to include very basic skill lessons because we think the basics are important and that students need to learn basic skills.
