The United States did all they could under their power to contain communism. During the Vietnam War, the United States often went to drastic measures. Some of the actions that took place were unjustified. The memory of these have gone into collective amnesia of the minds of the citizens of our country. Vietnam: then&now

1999
Vietnam: Then and Now is designed to educate people about the country of Vietnam. We want students to understand that Vietnam is a fascinating country, not just a war that they learn about in their history classes. Our site includes information about the people, culture, geography, and government of Vietnam today, as well as sections on history and the Vietnam War. We utilize maps and pictures; borrowed with permission from other web pages, or taken by us; to help illustrate the country. In our Viewpoints section, we include stories written by us, interviews, and reviews of books and web sites that we believe capture important aspects of Vietnamese life and history that are not ordinarily included in text books. We also have a section where users can tell us, and other visitors to our site, about their experiences or what they know of Vietnam. For people with slow connections, older browsers, and screen readers, we have another version of our site that is only text, and a few images we felt were particularly useful. We hope our site will be a valuable resource for students, classes, and other people interested in any aspect of Vietnam, and will encourage them to conduct further research of their own.
