This site will help parents, students, teachers, and even ESL students be successful in school. It teaches students in grades 1 though 8 how to do math concepts according to their developmental level. Students have step-by-step (tutoring)instructions and examples of how to perform various mathematical computations appropriate for the user's grade level. Our web creaters also made sure that this website is fun.
Our web creators interviewed teachers and studied "reteaching" manuals to create this site as a resource for teachers and students at our school, as well as other schools facing the same problem. We do not have a special education program. Our teachers have to rely on volunteers to help students with learning disabilities. Not only does this site cater to students needing help in math, it also teaches math in Spanish. All games, steps, and links have been translated in Spanish.

This site was designed for people who have trouble with math word problems. However, then we thought people with math disabilities would not stay at a site that only gave examples and get bored until they ran from their computers screaming. Therefore, we gave the site a Survivor theme. Survivor is a T.V. show where a number of people try to stay on a island together and every week they vote and the one with the most votes gets kicked off the island. The last one on the island is the winner of 1 million dollars. We also increased the popularity with a dash of witty humor. Can you survive?

When people hear the number Pi, we hear they go, "Oh no, not another of those projects focusing on Mathematics, numbers, equations..." I am not a mathematician, I am not a genius, I am just an ordinary student studying in a high school. So my aim of this project? To let people like me explore the other side of Pi, to know the other 'values' of this unique number. What roles do Pi play in our lives? What does Pi do in our world where we work, study or play? Is Pi really just another pure mathematical number or does it have other fun aspects we can talk about? This is exactly what we are going to explore in this project.

Math for Kids - A Medieval Problem-Solving Adventure, is a site for fourth graders who want to improve their math problem-solving skills for school or for competitions like Math Olympiad. All the math problems were written by the two fourth grade team members. Many math students have trouble with word problems. The approach at our site is two-fold: learn to break the problem into steps and learn to recognize the right strategy for solving it. One section of the site focuses on solving word problems using various problem-solving strategies, such as working backwards, using a chart, and recognizing extra information. Finally, there are links to other math sites. A medieval theme is used for all the problems and we have created dozens of pictures to go with them.

Our main educational objective of this entry was to explore the uses of the Internet and how it relates to our education. We found that our group enjoys finding math sites that include fun math games; they are both fun and helpful to us as we improve our problem solving strategies. It was our goal to create a website where children our age can come visit and practice problem solving. They will also discover some of our favorite math sites. In addition, as we move into the 21st century, we realize the importance of using technology, specifically the Internet, as a learning tool. We learned how to manipulate and explore various sites. Then, we linked them to our own work. Finally, our objective was to enjoy working with the computer and Internet.
