Our group tried to provide an educational web page teaching students about the Salem Witch Trials and the Revolutionary War. We focused on the themes of friendship, prejudice and history. Students can travel back in time and discover the truths of American history.

As children, we researched these topics through the eyes of the children who experienced them. Our site includes information about fashion, religion, government, and the lifestyle during these selected periods. As sixth graders ourselves, this website is very beneficial in studying for tests and it will help everyone intensely in perceiving the past. Historical Events such as these are essential to learn about. They're also remarkably interesting. So, we decided that History should be fun. We added several games and pictures into our masterpiece so that kids, all around the world, would enjoy learning about History. Our website demonstrates the impacts children had in history during the three time periods, The Salem Witch Trials, the Revolutionary War, and The Civil War. We created our website so that it is fun for children who read it. We tried to provide as much information as we could without making the website boring. We also tried to focus on now prejudice affected these three events in history. We included a historical word search to ad an aspect of fun to our page.

We are making a web site to educate kids about historical events in a fun, enjoyable way. We will try to get as many different views and opinions on topics from people around the world. We will show examples of prejudice and friendship and try to incorporate games, quizzes, surveys, and other fun activities. We will also show examples from the award winning novels The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare (the story of a girl who was wrongly accused of being a witch) and Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes (the story of a young boy's struggle with his crippled hand during the Revolutionary War). Also, we will relate examples in the text to other similar historical events. We will use different unique sources to gather our information. We will also try to support our information with different opinions and teaching methods. This is how we are going to make a web site teaching kids about prejudice, friendship, and history.
