Team Collaboration
The idea of working on this website came quite early to us. Since we were already members on a Think Quest Project on butterflies (Living Fairies) , we decided to take up this challenge to put our work of past one year in to this website. We initially thought to limit our team only to Bangalore (the TQ project started here) but after consulting with our teachers we decided to expand the scope to several other regions of our country (North East India and North India). We also requested Ms Orny (Rome) to help us to gain knowledge on butterflies found in Europe. Elena provided us some valuable inputs to be included in our website. However due to winter at Europe we could not manage to spot many butterflies there.
The Team comprising of six students from Bangalore, Ambala, Guwahati and Rome collaborated with their original butterfly photographs and video artifacts to make this project a comprehensive research work. We need to mention on point here that our photographs and videos were taken by small amateur Digicams (Sony, Canon and Samsaung). We had to run after butterflies for hours to get a good snap. We tried to select only the best photographs out of hundreds of photographs that we managed to take.
We very well know that there has been a lot of work done by professional and amateur butterfly photographers and the reference is readily available on Web. In our project we included only those butterflies that we manage to capture on our camera. We could capture more than 30 species of butterflies and limited our research on these butterflies only.
Our main effort was not only to study the butterflies but also to motivate students of our school to learn more about this jewel of nature. We also tried to convey the message that if one study the butterfly, he could come close to the minute details of nature.
The majority of the work was completed and compiled at Bangalore, where we had students who could actually design the website with better knowledge and understanding of web designing.
We uploaded 67 web pages containing original images and videos with lot of interesting information and reasearch work.

We initiated the project at Bangalore where our coach Mr Ashok motivated us to take up this challenge. I invited the other schools to be a part of this wonderful experience.
The schools situated in these regions are blessed with natural resources, greenery, flowers and most important hundreds of species of Butterflies.
All of us had similar qualities and over all the love for butterflies. We chased these illusive creatures till we could manage to get one or two snaps. This continued for months. It was a thrilling experience. Despite of language, cultural and geographical barrier our team could manage to collaborate and complete the website in time.
