Carbon is 4 Ever is an interactive site that explores different aspects of Organic Chemistry. While giving a brief overview of the main areas of Chemistry, the site focuses on the unique bonding capabilities of the carbon atom and a range of organic compounds (alcohols, alkanes, aldehydes and carboxylic acids). The significance of "4" in the title is a reference to carbon's valency number. To make the lesson interactive and fun, the popular theme of James Bond is used as a metaphor for the site in relation to carbon bonding. The learner must take on the persona of Bond,?: Carbon Bond. They must battle to save the world through five interactive missions and are motivated to learn and apply their knowledge by entertainment, success and a scoring system. The final challenge tests information learned while going through the site.

The diamond, graphite and buckminsterfullerene are the well-known allotropes of carbon. It does not meen that the carbon allotropes according with the factor of covalent bond are only as few as that. Using the simple mathematical relations between points and lines only, and our basic space imagination, we have form a lot of potential carbon allotropes according with the factor of bond. If a number of these materials can really be produced, some of them might have special physical characters. These special properties might make beautiful dreams with carbon's future, and perhaps our future too.

Our web page includes many interesting facts about chemistry. We chose chemistry as our subject because if you walked up to an average kid and asked him to name as many elements as he or she could, he would say something like, "Oxygen, Plutonium, Titanium, Gold, Silver, Earth, Fire" It is almost alarming how little the average child knows about chemistry. If you were to ask him or her what the periodic table was, they might stare blankly at you for a minute before asking, "Isn't that the new restaurant on the corner?" Michael asked a few kids in his neighborhood these questions, and these were two of the answers he received. We want to help educate other children about atoms, molecules, and elements. Even if we don't win the Think Quest competition, we will have accomplished our goal as long as we can get ten kids to learn from our website.

We have been applying the process of bleaching unknowingly throughout our daily lives. Many people have overlooked the significant role of bleaching and hence in our website, we would like to introduce to our viewrs the beauty of the chemistry of bleaching. Though briefly, we managed todescribe its chemical aspects, different areas o bleaching and interesting facts about it involving a wide area of discussion. In both lower and upper levels of education (GCE 'O' and 'A' levels), reduction-oxidation (redox) reactions are being taught and emphasized to the students. As bleaching is mainly a redox reaction, we hope that students will learn about redox reactions through bleaching and at the same time have fun while viewing our website. They will also find it more interesting when this aspect of chemistry is applicable to their daily life. The experiments proposed are simple to conduct, and offer an interesting way to enlighten students about the mechanism of bleaches. As for the science or chemistry teachers, they would also find it useful when extracting information regarding bleaching at a reasonable comprehensive and concise level. This will further serve as a teaching aid for the teachers to pass on the knowledge of bleaching to their students.

Working on the topic fireworks was interesting and a fun experience. We include the topics of history, safety, how they are made, how they work, different kinds, an interview with Rozzi's Famous Fireworks plant, links, and games. We make the learning fun because we have games, a word search and a crossword puzzle. Our goal was to take a topic that most people find not that educational and make it educational. The topic fireworks was already fun but we have taken it to another level by making a creative and interactive site.

Our project is about one of the most important discoveries of mankind, the fire.
We will talk of how was its probable discovery, the interaction between man and
fire since the prehistoric times to the present day, the way in which fire
benefits the man and the problems that it can cause when it is used in an
irresponsible way, as well as safety measures and ways to extinguish the
different types of fire.
This research has been developed in order to change the missconception that
many people have about fire. We would like the people who read our work to see
fire as a natural phenomenon that makes easier our lives. To increase the
learning rate, we will exemplify with easy doing and safe experiments proving
the most important topics, every section will have its own summary and a fun
trivia quiz at the end of each one. We have created a systematically tour
through our page in which every topic mentioned above will be explained.
To make this tour more interesting and attractive we had use a character of
our invention named "FLAMITA" who is going to explain each aspect.
Our program is divided in seven interesting subjects.
Introduction and definition of fire
Fire in ancient times
The probable discovery of fire
How and when to start a fire
When fire becomes dangerous
Common uses of fire
First aid
