The relationship between addition and multiplication is outlined, a process for duplicating the activities in the classroom using "Bricks" is included, and sample problems are given. Math for Kids - A Medieval Problem-Solving Adventure, is a site for fourth graders who want to improve their math problem-solving skills for school or for competitions like Math Olympiad. All the math problems were written by the two fourth grade team members. Many math students have trouble with word problems. The approach at our site is two-fold: learn to break the problem into steps and learn to recognize the right strategy for solving it. One section of the site focuses on solving word problems using various problem-solving strategies, such as working backwards, using a chart, and recognizing extra information. Finally, there are links to other math sites. A medieval theme is used for all the problems and we have created dozens of pictures to go with them.
