Be Mine, Canine!

1999
Although dogs are called "man's best friend", many people do not know a lot about dogs. Our goal in constructing this web page is to teach the web world all about our canine friends. We will discuss the different types of dogs such as toy dogs and working dogs. We will also provide information about the different breeds of dogs as well as pictures of many of them. Since all of our group members own at least one dog, we plan to include information about how to care for them. Many dogs have outstanding senses of hearing or smell. We will include facts about this as well as how they use them. Now, more than ever people are learning to love dogs and we hope our web page will promote this even more.

Cool Canines

1999
This group did research on many different breeds of dogs. The group members choose which breeds they wanted to report on and than created web pages that gave information, links to other web sites, and pictures of dogs. They used both real pictures and clip art graphics.. The members wanted to give students on the internet oth factual information and their own opinion of which dogs make good pets. For that reason they included personal comments about the different breeds. The members wanted to share their favorite dog websites with other students. They would also like to correspond with other students to share more information with others. There is a dog puzzle that will teach visitors to the site how to drag graphics from one place to another

Dogs - Man's Best Friend

1999
The students chose to research dogs because they love them. This project was an optional way to do their research project. This project incorporates the 3 "T's" - what some say has replaced the 3 "R's" in education. Those 3 "T's" are Technology, Teamwork and Thinking. In order to be successful in this day and age, students must be adept at all three. The parents of my students, as well as the technology department of my district, are in wholehearted support of these objectives. In addition to the skills the students have learned, the parents of my students also feel that their children have learned very valuable, life-long lessons as well.
