The objectives of our project are to gather information about our iguanas through field observations;and book, periodical and electronic research in order to educate and influence a more positive attitude by our students and our community toward our "threatened" iguana. This project, which is beyond the time limitation of the ThinkQuest competition, involves the coordinating of a multitude of cross curriculum projects which focus on the iguana and coordinating the field observations of the entire school. Through the actual field observations and the iguana "awareness" projects, our students have already learned that, through education and commitment they can make a difference. (See the conclusion in our field report). One small aspect of the project is to add to the scientific knowledge about the iguana. According to our Department of Fish and Wildlife, the feeding habits of our iguana is not well documented. Our study, which will not end for at least a year, should add to that documentation. Our goals: For committed students to add to a knowledge base and to make a difference in their community. Our objectives: To improve the lot of our urban iguanas.
