The main goal of our site is to unveil to our visitors the true, and sometimes little known, facts, and sometimes horrors, of the adoption process. We have researched how adopted children feel about their lives, their different circumstances and hardships in order to convey to our audience what it is like to be adopted. In addition, we provide insight on how teenagers who decide to put their child up for adoption feel about their crucial decision. We also provide the hard facts of the adoption process. Did you know that it costs more money to adopt a Caucasian baby than it does for any other baby? There are many specific details about the adoption process that are not known to the public. We provide details to the light and exposing the true essence of the adoption process.

Blood diamonds are diamonds that are mined by young children and slaves to provide money to fuel civil wars in Africa. Rebels sell diamonds to distributors for lots of money so that they can buy guns, ammo, and vehicles so that they can fight the government. Often times slaves and children die or get seriously hurt from mining diamonds. This is why there is a conflict. Blood is shed so that rebels can continue to fight the government, and cause chaos in their country.

The purpose of our website is to educate the public about homelessness. The cause of homelessness is varied, and most people ignore it as if it's normal to see it in contemporary society. The number of homeless individuals is on the rise in recent times, but no one is noticing. Up to a quarter of the population in some places spend their lives in the streets. Our goal here is to promote awareness and compassion about homelessness in our society and the rest of the world through providing real facts. It is heartless to remain in a cage of selfishness while our fellow human beings endure the pain of cold and lack of food. As human beings, we are capable of much more.

This website is designed to inform, not only teens, but also adults, about slavery. We believe that young people, as well as their parents, should know about the true events that took place during the transatlantic slave trade. Also, they should know that slavery is still taking place today and that anyone could possibly be taken into slavery, which is currently referred to as human trafficking. It is our hope that people find out the truth about what happened in the past, and what is happening now. Hopefully some of them will look at the people who were/are involved with enslavement differently by helping the ones who are still involved. Everyone’s decision counts about what goes on in the world. Our website creates the opportunity for changing the world.

This website concerns the history of Chinatown in Seattle and its immigrants. This topic is important because Chinese and other Asian immigrants had a significant impact on Seattle. They contributed a lot, yet received no recognition, instead only harsh words and racist epitaphs. They were treated as second class citizens, shunned away from society and put into a little area of Seattle called Chinatown. This area has a lot of history, yet it is always overlooked. We want to educate Chinatown/International District's immigrants on how its social reality shaped their life.

Over the years, minorities have been diagnosed with more serious health issues during their middle age than the general population. Their life expectancy is seven years less than the average white male’s because minorities lack health insurance, disregard health care, and/or lack awareness. The cause of this begins in the early years of a minority male’s life. This site hopes to educate students about diseases and lifestyles contributing to a high and early mortality rate among African American and Hispanic males.

Our site explores about abdi dalem, employees at Yogyakarta Keraton, an ancient tradition which still exist until now. In here we would reveal about their job description: who these people are, what exactly their duty is, how they accomplish the duty, what they earn from this job, and what makes this occupation so interesting. However, they still dont get enough attention as they deserve. These Abdi Dalems deserves appreciation and welfare. Both things that they hope could accept not only from the sultan but also from all stage of society.
Our project aim is to make people notice about how important it is to maintance our traditional culture. Especially in this globalization period where people are becoming less concern and give less attention to ancestors haritage. Therefore, we have to keep our culture or less we will loss it. Since we live in indonesia , a multicultural country which has so many tradition and so many tribes. We could make a huge progress by simply starting a little step. Our first step is to start from local culture in Yogyakarta, so in this case we talk about abdi dalem. If we ourselves don’t give attention to our own culture, who else will? By being concerned with our culture means preventing it’s extention and also preventing culture piracing by others.

Our project is a narrative about the life of the local community in Singapore. It aims to provide information about the everyday life of the people living in Singapore and provides insights into their daily activities. Through our project, we hope to introduce to readers all over the world, some of which might not have the chance or means to visit Singapore, the authentic lifestyle of common locals in Singapore. This is different from what tourists (those who visit Singapore purely with the objective of sight-seeing and touring), might understand about Singaporeans. Since facts about Singapore and information about Singapore such as attractions and local cuisine are widely available on the Internet and in books, hence our project aims to present information and insights which are not readily available or easily obtainable. To achieve this, our project aims to share our personal insights, observations, as well as research about the lives of our local community.
In our project, we have chosen to include Singaporeans as well as foreign immigrants living in Singapore as the local community in Singapore, as this is necessary in order for us to accurately portray and for readers to understand the highly cosmopolitan nature of Singapore.
We have highlighted and classified the different aspects of locals’ lifestyle in seven broad categories: Singaporean Homes, Schooling, Leisure & Entertainment, Singaporean Identity, Foreign Immigrants and Transport. Altogether, these categories introduce multi-aspects of the lives of our local community.
Since a picture speaks a thousand words, we have made it a point to include photographs (taken personally by our team members) to reinforce or describe the content that we have narrated on regarding the lives of our local community. This will guarantee that information and viewpoints are presented in a more interesting and comprehensive way.
We hope that our project will help readers from all over the world understand more about Singapore and know about the lifestyle of the common local (or non-local) in Singapore, as well as the Singapore culture. Hopefully, our project can also arouse the curiosity and interest of readers about Singapore, and give them reason and meaning to make a visit to Singapore.

Through this project we wish to enlarge upon the otaku culture. We first started with four different approaches: otaku (terminology and development in human society), manga (Japanese comic books), anime (Japanese animations) and martial arts, but then the project extended to other domains of this subculture (like Origami, J-Music, Kakuro and games).
Essential question: What is the Otaku sub-culture and what are its implications in society?
Expected outcomes: We hope to offer a platform for those interested in such subjects and wish to learn more or for those who haven’t even been exposed to these subjects. We also hope to become a great source of not only information, but of entertainment too and to be able to raise awareness of this subculture that has gained a lot of ground all over the world in the past years.
This project contains 59 images, of which more than 85% were either photos taken by team members or their drawings. It also contains 3 videos made by team members and several articles that are 100% original.
We started this project first of all because all the team members spend a lot of their time with otaku-related activities, so we saw in this project an opportunity to put some light on it, and show that it is something that shouldn't be seen as weird, strange or useless. It is an opportunity to raise awareness and try to create a better society that is more united and understands all its components.

The stars, once thought to be unreachable and unattainable, and hence the celestial bodies meant the heavens. From this sprung all manners of meanings in life, from ad astra to astronomy to astrology. The lattermost was a science that showed how the stars, perhaps through influence with the gods, or even just being there, affected the lives of the humans down on earth. Now, astrology is an art without scientific evidence. Yet, is it really as false as most people now believe it to be? Learn how this science came about, possible theories on why it works, and how it might just influence your lives. Most importantly, have fun while learning about the guiding stars.

The Ecotrashpay project proposes a new way of attributing and paying for garbage, conveting the old tax on the garbage based on the home surface expressed in square metres, in a new kind of rate based on the numbers of components of the family and above all calculated on the effective quantity of garbage produced.
The heart of the Project is the information system storing or a smart card in addition to the database.
Considering the wide diffusion of this new technology (ie: the SIM used in cellphone, the new credit cards, etc) witch, for the security offered to the data protection has been chosen by the Italian government for the production of personal identity card, our idea is to employ one single card for several services: identity cards, citizen’s card, bank card and naturally ecotrashpay card.

The project "Etiquette" is the reflection of our conception of etiquette as a social science. We believe there are misunderstandings about what etiquette is about. We think people have the misconception that etiquette is about rules to make their lives more difficult and limit their actions. We believe the true aim of etiquette is to help all people of all lifestyles get along with each other. Etiquette is a wide and complex topic. We begin our project by giving users interesting facts from the History of Etiquette to get a general idea of the topic. In our opinion, Table Etiquette (table manners, table arrangement, how to eat meals with others) is one of the most important and contemporary issues of etiquette. Our conception of etiquette is a wide ranging one. We also regard etiquette as a special social language and have included a section on Body Language and a new science called kinesics. The rebus, tests, amusing artworks and photos, the design and a sense of humor give a lighthearted attitude to a subject that often becomes heavyhanded. The information is presented in condensed form and the interesting facts will enrich your knowledge.

Games are an inseparable part of culture. The development of games, accessories, and ideas represent a component of civilization. Games in Civilization introduces visitors to this fascinating aspect of world cultures. Although all civilizations are different, their games are repeatedly the same in practice, though the principals of the game may have been realized in different ways. Our entry gives users a simple interface for researching games and their unique connections with civilizations. It illustrates how games have grown and matured through time, and differences between games in different time periods and world locations. It also covers the topic of Game Theory: mathematical as well as psychological. It gives users the ability to view the diverse ideas and opinions of others and respond to these, providing a significant and enriching experience. Visitors are encouraged to expand the database by adding games not already explored. Students, teachers, and those simply interested in games will find a useful and meaningful medium for refining their knowledge of games throughout civilization.

The typical human being probably thinks that he or she is not affected by subliminal messages because they either do not work or are illegal. Neither of those assumptions are entirely true. By definition, the word subliminal means "below the threshold of consciousness." The threshold of consciousness is the dividing line between something that can be processed by the conscious mind and something that enters the subconscious mind without any such processing. A subliminal message is not intense enough to produce a sensation but has sufficient intensity to influence the behavior and mental processes of one's mind. There are many ways in which a suggestion can be delivered to the audience, and you will see some such methods discussed in the advertising section of this site. When an individual is told to do something, he or she generally thinks about the positive and negative consequences, and then decides whether or not it is a good idea. This is done in the conscious mind, where the individual is aware of the suggestion he or she is being given. The decisions the conscious mind makes are based upon the knowledge and reasoning skills one has developed through experience and education. The subconscious mind does not have these reasoning skills, and thus has no ability to distinguish right from wrong, or judge the information it receives. When a suggestion enters the subconscious mind, it is taken as the truth and stored for future reference. For this reason, the strength of subliminal messages has virtually no boundaries, and can be dangerous when used improperly. These may be controlled to an extent by governments around the world, but we are still vulnerable to subliminal influence.
