BUSEKEL Five G- 3

2009
What kind of school can meet parents' needs in the future? How are schools in present different? Why do parents always want to put their kids in a modern and high tech school? Why do they often expect educators to provide the students with all the information they need? What is their opinion on the present school condition? We use school based curriculum. We are trying to make a comparative research to find out people's expectations of a futuristic ideal school. We really hope the government or anybody who is interested in education read our project and make it as their comparative target. We are trying to make an illustration on what school they imagine. This project needs at least one school to be compared and some teachers, parents and of course the students themselves to be interviewed. Team members share the tasks of interviewing those mention above. The project will help the class to have a long and nice discussion on what a futuristic school should be. Is it the same as what they are imagining? They can also discuss people's opinion on that project. We would also inform that nothing is perfect, so we only can hope.. but everything is back to the educators, government, society, and ourselves on how we judge the school. Is it a good school or a bad one? from which side do we say it is good or bad? materials/ subjects? teachers? facilities or what? Let's hope the government will make our dream school come true.

Explore in water level rising Of Qinghai Lake

2009
We often read news about the continuous water level rising of Qinghai Lake because of global warming in recent years; it’s really a inspiring news compares to the dropping trend of the lake. Qinghai Lake, which is reputed “eye drop” of the earth, is the biggest inland lake and the biggest salt water lake of China. And it plays an extremely important ecological role, for example, it’s a wetland of international importance, and it is an important ecological barrier and climate condition unit of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. If Qinghai Lake does not exist, sandstorm from Chaidamu Basin will spread to greater part of China. And the north will become desert. As an important body of water for keeping the ecological security of the northeast part on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Qinghai Lake is not only a natural barrier for preventing the desertification in the west from extending to the east, but also has an important impact on Yellow River valley. On July 30, 2007, special representative of former president Bush, Former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson made Qinghai province as his first stop during his visit to China, and did a comprehensive survey to the ecological environment control of Qinghai Lake. This might occur for the first time in Qinghai history, for there had never been such high-ranking international official paid special visit to Qinghai before. This explains that Qinghai Lake plays an important role in the world. After gratified with the fact, we can’t refrain from asking, is the water level of Qinghai Lake really rising continuously? How long will this rising tendency keep? Is it good or bad? What’s the influence on the ecological environment? Let’s step into thinkquest.org, and walk into Qinghai Lake, let’s research together! The activities will cultivate our thinking, careful observation, to practice, expression and communication ability!

Roads that are used to complete the mission, the mission's health is one of green computing. A lot of knowledge that we get from green computing, for example, the use of power management for using computer, science of designing computer-friendly environment, science, the utilization of energy than electricity for using computer, etc.. We as the people of Indonesia, of course realize that right in our country's many natural resources are abundant. Unfortunately, these natural resources we can not be fully utilized. Many useless and ignored by the foreign investors. In terms of ethics, cultures, green computing feasible example for the community because the general public to be sure they want a comfortable life and not extravagant. JAI OH SURYA BHAGAVAN (mighty sun)

2009
The main objective behind this project is to spread awareness about the potential of the Solar energy and about harnessing it for various day-to-day life activities. Solar energy is the most readily available source of energy and ,in fact, it is free because it does not belong to anyone! It is said to be the most vital non-conventional, i.e., renewable source of energy as it does not pollute the environment and gradually lessens global warming. India receives solar energy equivalent to over 5000 trillion kWh/year, which is far more than even the total energy consumption of the country! Just imagine, if at least 25% of this is converted for generation of other energy sources, all of India would be using Solar powered gadgets for all the purposes with 0% pollution. If an equivalent figure is used all over the world, Earth would be pollution free and way too resourceful! so let us join our hands and start "SOLAR REVOLUTION"!!!

School Of The Future 2

2009
Our project is on ideas for the school of the future. We banded together to brainstorm on what we would imagine as the school of the future. We have a design, structure, and many ideas for the running of our school. Through a complex mix of advanced materials, creative curriculum, and the use of some of the Nation's brightest young minds, we have succeeded in designing the school of the future, today. After nearly non-stop work for weeks, we have made astounding breakthroughs in Research and Development. We have done advanced research into the possibilities just out of our reach, and farther away as well. After finding that there are amazing materials like see-through metal already available to us today, we wanted too share our ideas with the world. We have brought together ideas into this essay. We think that the future is nearer every day, so we should accelerate forwards, pooling the world's efforts into advanced research, and trying to make a better world for our children and grandchildren. From clean energy practices to safer structures, we are moving ahead every day. Though it may be hard, we can pull the United States and the world out of this rut we drug ourselves through. As the famous Tom Hanks once said, "From now on we live in a world where man has walked on the Moon. It's not a miracle; we just decided to go." That is enough to prove to us that anything is possible. We are the nation's children and we say enough is enough. If what it takes is effort, we must work harder. If what it takes knowledge, we will be smarter. If what it takes is strength, we will be stronger! If it takes time, so be it. But we will grow stronger, be smarter, work harder and faster, and most of all, we will prevail! The school of the future is just a stepping stone in the great path of life. As Mr.Obama once said, "Yes We Can!" We will do what it takes, however hard. Though it may seem miniscule, this project just spreads hope. Hope for advancement. Hope for progress. And most of all, hope for the future!

Ethical Issues in Science and Technology

1999
Our website examines the negative, as well as the positive, effects of technology on society: not simply obviously destructive technologies such as weaponry, but also more subversive ones such as television, the Internet, automobiles, and so on. Modern consumerism, capitalism, militarism, and so on are thoroughly deconstructed and analyzed. It is our hope that this website will educate students who have as yet been blind to the evils that otherwise positive technologies can produce. A larger issue is at stake here as well: the issue of "progress". Is progress always a good thing? Society is geared towards constant change and progress (technology, of course, being a clear microcosm of this tendency) - perhaps it would be wise to step back for a few moments and examine other options. Essays, links, informational pages, and discussion boards form a major part of this site. We believe this topic forms the basis of a goal worthy of the TQ contest.
About this site

Subliminal Messages

1999
The typical human being probably thinks that he or she is not affected by subliminal messages because they either do not work or are illegal. Neither of those assumptions are entirely true. By definition, the word subliminal means "below the threshold of consciousness." The threshold of consciousness is the dividing line between something that can be processed by the conscious mind and something that enters the subconscious mind without any such processing. A subliminal message is not intense enough to produce a sensation but has sufficient intensity to influence the behavior and mental processes of one's mind. There are many ways in which a suggestion can be delivered to the audience, and you will see some such methods discussed in the advertising section of this site. When an individual is told to do something, he or she generally thinks about the positive and negative consequences, and then decides whether or not it is a good idea. This is done in the conscious mind, where the individual is aware of the suggestion he or she is being given. The decisions the conscious mind makes are based upon the knowledge and reasoning skills one has developed through experience and education. The subconscious mind does not have these reasoning skills, and thus has no ability to distinguish right from wrong, or judge the information it receives. When a suggestion enters the subconscious mind, it is taken as the truth and stored for future reference. For this reason, the strength of subliminal messages has virtually no boundaries, and can be dangerous when used improperly. These may be controlled to an extent by governments around the world, but we are still vulnerable to subliminal influence.
