All Along a River

1999
In the growing age of information technology, lessons are no longer restricted to textbooks. This is especially so for the subject of Geography which focus on the process of landform building and the application of facts in the modern world. Hence, this webpage aims to provide an interactive learning resource that both students and teachers can use as a virtual learning tool, creating a win-win situation for both parties. For the teachers, they would be able to make use of multimedia to conduct lessons that are livelier. And for the students, they would no longer have to go through the tedious memory work of studying again, but yet at the same time, be able to fully understand this earths wonder. This project sought to bring about the various landforms and distinctions along a river through a trail. Many renowned rivers throughout the world also broaden the knowledge of students and increase their interest towards what many people call The flow of life. This is because we understand that what students remember as they step into the society in the future is not How a river is formed but How people relate to rivers. Hence, our project maximises the use of IT to provide a different learning experience for students, making monotonous textbook an object of yesteryear.

Korean Tidal Wetlands -Indicators of a threatened ecosystem-

1999
- Our entry "tidalflat" includes the main categories : "What is the tidalflat?", " Style of the tidalflat", "Preservations", " The sea livings", and " function of tidalflat". At first, our site has the brief and short explanations with the pictures. It is true that the environmental issues are mostly very hard and uninteresting issues. Our team really hope that users feel free to reach our sites to be getting closer to the environment. So that is the main reason that we made our explanations short and brief. And with our categories users'll be able to get the common and general organized knowledge about environment and tidal flat. But we got abundant link sites and the hot news as well for getting more informations. So if users want more information in each category, they can easily move to other sites. With the environmental importance the concern about tidalflat is getting bigger. And also it's really needed that thinking over the way to preserve the environment including tidalflat. Our team hope that users have the chance to think about environment preservation one more time.

Our objective in the further study of maritime was an extension/enhancement of our fourth grade social studies curriculum which focuses on the study of Maryland and includes an exploration of our Chesapeake Bay and the Port of Baltimore. Additional educational objectives focused on having the children develop their research skills by collecting, organizing, and interpreting information from a variety of sources which included electronic media as well as library materials and the interview process. The children needed to be able to present that multidisciplinary information accurately in an organized electronic format while working together cooperatively and collaboratively.

Bright, colorful illustrations serve to attract the eye, while solid information organized by type of animal provides the student with good research material. A condensed version of the animal information is offered as a "tour," and the quiz contained in the site takes the form of a game.
